Robert A. Pelosi, NCC, LCMHC, BCETS
As part of his specialized practice, Pelosi also conducts Violence Risk Assessments to assist in determining risk levels and potentials. Bob is a National Certified Counselor by the National Board for Certified Counselors, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (VT) and licensed in New York. He holds a Master’s Degree in Human Services, and a two-year post-Master’s Certification in Gestalt Therapy.
Bob is a Board-Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress by the National Center for Crisis Management, and is listed in the International Registry of Experts in Traumatic Stress. He is a Diplomate of the American Mental Health Counselors Association. He is additionally trained in Attachment Disorders, Abuse & Neglect, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Trauma Informed Therapy. Bob trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment Model for Children with Disruptive Behavior Disorders through The Center for Advancement of Childrens' Mental Health at Columbia University.
He served the State of Vermont on the Governor's Task Force on Gang Violence and helped author their Report of the Vermont Gang Activity Task Force, and subsequently on the Governor's Community Violebce Prevention Task Force. He is the originator of No Broken Kids, a parenting program for care providers and parents. He is also a Premiere Speaker/Trainer for American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. Bob has also served on the Adjunct Faculty of Antioch New England University in Keene, New Hampshire, supervising and teaching graduate interns in the Applied Psychology Department.
His private practice has offices in Bellows Falls, Vermont. Bob prides himself on performing his work with compassion, professionalism and a deep commitment to support and gentleness. In his spare time, Bob enjoys time with his family, traveling, playing keyboard, oil painting, flea markets, farm animals, and dabbling with home repair projects at the family's 230-year old rural Vermont farmhouse.
